Hearing Age Test

High frequencies quietly disappear as we age. Find the highest pitch you can still hear — and meet your hearing age.

🎧 Put on headphones

Set your volume to a comfortable level — around half. Each step plays a tone for two seconds; tell us honestly whether you hear it.

How it works

The tiny hair cells in your inner ear that pick up high frequencies wear out first — most adults lose the 18–20 kHz range by their mid-twenties, and 15 kHz gradually fades through middle age. This test sweeps upward from 8 kHz until you stop hearing the tone.

Take the result with a grin, not a diagnosis: laptop speakers often can’t physically produce sounds above ~17 kHz, compression and volume settings matter, and this is no substitute for a real audiogram.

🔒 The tones are generated on your device — nothing is uploaded. More toys: reaction time test ·your life in weeks.
